Y-12 PDRD

Develop a modeling methodology to reduce implementation risk, enhance performance and provide better assessment and measurement tools for system optimization efforts. This collaboration focuses on improving daily business operations in Y-12’s medical department. Y-12 Occupational Health Services staff are working with UT’s Industrial and Information Engineering Department along with two graduate students from UT’s College of Business Administration to develop a management system that provides a status of the flow of patients and resources in the clinic in real time, assess provider workload and predicts what the potential results are by changing schedules or the available resources, and optimizes the scheduling and availability of resources to provide the best throughput for the system. This Project is a demonstrating project using OHS as a model; the goal is to use the experience and tools from this project to build similar systems to improve performance throughout the rest of Y-12 and NNSA.
